Jean Pierre and Johanna

The French winemaker Jean-Pierre Biard and his Dutch wife Johanna van der Spek bought the Château and the vineyards1988. The new winecellar was built in 1989 and the first harvest of 1990 was rewarded with as many as 87 points by wine author Robert Parker.

This 1990 vintage also won a golden medal at the prestigious Concours Agricole in Paris. Many medals, awards, honourable mentions and other prizes were to follow. Like recently a golden medal at the Asia Wine Style Contest in Singapore and a gold medal at the Montreal Wine Selections in Canada, which is the biggest wine contest of North America.

Paul den Toom, former wine buyer in the Netherlands, is responsible for the export of the wines and also for the rental of the Winevillas. Paul also helps in the winecellars and produces wine together with Jean Pierre.
